The charming Place de la Republique and the historic bridge over the River Aude are around the corner. Quillan is a small market town on the River Aude and is known locally as the Gateway to the Pyrenees It is in the heart of Cathar country and an ideal base to explore this rich and varied landscape. The nearest ski resort is just 32km away and the coast just over an hour. The town has all amenities. open air pool. water sports. and lots of restaurants. cafes and bars. There are twice weekly markets (Wed. Sat) and during July and August an evening craft market (Thu) From May until the end of August there are Fetes and weekend entertainment.
